Silicone was developed for commercial purposes during World War II to meet the need for high heat resistance in militar applications. In the following years, studies on silicones continued and the tensile strength, flexibility, sag and resistance properties of the material were continuously improved.

Silicone foam sheet are made by special continuous vulcanizing plain press vulcanizer with high quality closed cell or open cell silicone sponge material and inimitable sponge technique, it is good performance of high temperature resistant, aging resistant, ozone resistant, heat insulation, fuel oil resistance, lubes resistance, no smell and wear well, high compressibility and low compression set over a wide working temperature range, good acoustic and thermal insulation properties.
In particular, the resistance to wide temperature ranges and the physical properties that were developed accordingly made silicones superior to synthetic polymers.
It is open-celled, and its surfaces are shiny (skin) and closed. It is an ideal sponge for materials that are particularly resistant to high temperatures (60° C + 270° C) and come into contact with foodstuffs. They can be between 2-20 mm thick. If desired, they can be cut into strips and covered with special adhesive tape. Its color is white (beige).

A: Generally no, although some materials are available with skins upon request.
Q: What can be used to cut your foam?
A: Most tools that can be used to cut wood can also be used to cut our foam. These include table saws, band-saws, table routing, water-jet, etc.
Both of them provide excellent protection and shock absorption for packaging applications.
